Assistant, Associate or Full Professor

About the Role

The Department of Biostatistics invites applicants for a full-time 12-month tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. This role is situated jointly within the College of Public Health and Health Professions (PHHP) and the College of Medicine (COM), fostering multidisciplinary research in the Clinical and Translational Research Building.

Faculty members engage in independent and collaborative research, teach in the MS and PhD in Biostatistics Programs, and support a Biostatistics concentration in the Masters of Public Health Program. They also serve as advisors and mentors to a diverse student body.

The department is a leader in areas such as artificial intelligence, big data analysis, cancer research, genetics, infectious disease modeling, medical image processing, metabolomics data analysis, survival analysis, causal inference, statistical methods for health surveys, high-dimensional inference, longitudinal data analysis, and clinical trials.

The Department collaborates closely with the NIH-funded Clinical and Translational Science Institute and hosts the Children’s Oncology Group, the Center for Statistics and Quantitative Infectious Diseases, and multiple NIH and other grants. It is ranked No. 11 in biostatistics programs at public universities by U.S. News & World Report.

Responsibilities

• Pursue independent and collaborative research in biostatistics and related fields.
• Teach and develop courses in the MS and PhD in Biostatistics Programs.
• Support the Biostatistics concentration in the Masters of Public Health Program.
• Advise and mentor students across academic programs.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary research initiatives within the Health Science Center and affiliated institutes.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in biostatistics or a related quantitative discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• For senior-level applicants: A strong record of academic accomplishments, scholarly recognition, external research funding, and evidence of leadership to support appointment at the rank of Professor or Associate Professor.
• For early-career applicants: Demonstrated potential to develop a record of research and scholarly achievement at the Assistant Professor level.

Pay
