About the Organization

Family Health Centers at NYU Langone is a designated Level 3 Medical Home and the largest federally qualified health center network in New York State, and the second largest in the nation. It includes eight primary care sites, 40 school-based health centers and dental clinics, four day care centers, the nation's largest dental residency program, and New York State's largest behavioral health program. The network also includes 12 community medicine sites providing care to disenfranchised New Yorkers, comprehensive HIV services, chemical dependency programs, and a family support center offering educational, vocational, and other social support programs.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Education Director of the Center, the certified teacher is responsible for working within the framework of Sunset Park Health Council, DOE, DOHMH, NAEYC, and Quality Stars NY standards, policies, and procedures. Teachers promote early childhood education for children and families both in and out of the classroom by providing sound supervision, developmentally appropriate lessons and community outings, and ensuring the health and safety of all children. Teachers develop positive parent relations, encourage parental involvement, and support the professional growth of classroom associates. Additionally, teachers conduct regular team meetings, attend staff meetings, and seek professional development opportunities to meet classroom needs. Teachers must document lessons, observations, assessments, and all necessary paperwork.

• Feeds children according to individual needs, family input, and CACFP guidelines.
• Puts infants to sleep according to individual schedules and takes care to prevent SIDS.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or related field.
• Initial NYS Teacher Certification.
• Two years of relevant experience.
• Completion of required Health and Safety Trainings.

• Ability to work well with others.
• Able to create and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.

Required License: NYS Teacher Certificate.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or related field.
• Permanent NYS Teacher Certification.
• Bilingual.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $63,653.00 - $77,269 annually. Actual salaries depend on factors such as experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The range does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
