About the role

We are seeking a passionate and creative teacher to join our team in Riverhead, NY on a full-time basis for the school year. This unique position involves working in a fast-paced behavioral health facility, providing academic support to adolescent school-age patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment.

Most class sizes range from 8 to 15 school-age patients at any one time.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily lesson plans
• Provide individualized assistance to students
• Regularly communicate about student progress as needed
• Monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success
• Maintain accurate attendance and session reports

Requirements

• B.A/B.S degree from an accredited institution
• NY State Teaching Certification
• Comfortable working with grades 7-12
• Strong organizational skills
• Understanding of subject matter relevant to student needs
• Reliable transportation

Schedule

This position entails a 40-hour-per-week commitment, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
