About the Role
Oak Plains Academy, a UHS company, is seeking a dynamic and talented Licensed Teacher to join our team. Oak Plains Academy is a comprehensive and highly structured 98-bed residential treatment program offering psychiatric residential treatment services to adolescents struggling with emotional and behavioral issues. Residents receive an individualized treatment plan tailored to meet their personal needs. A professional team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, nurses, and teachers serves hundreds of children and adolescents annually with the common goal of treating and healing trauma and building resiliency.
Located on 20 acres of rolling hills in a rural setting about 45 minutes from Nashville, Tennessee, the Oak Plains Academy campus features a full-size gymnasium, dining hall, separate academic building, and four dormitories. Our wooded campus provides excellent opportunities for outdoor recreational activities.
Responsibilities
The teacher provides instruction to residents with learning disabilities and/or behavioral mental health challenges.
Requirements
- Hold a valid TN Teaching License. If licensed in other areas of Education, you must obtain a Special Education endorsement within one year of accepting the position.
- Experience working with children with learning disabilities and/or behavioral mental health concerns.
- Valid TN driver's license.
- Successful background check, fingerprinting, and employment verification.
