About the role
The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) is seeking a Program Supervisor IV to join the Consumer Protection Property and Casualty Complaint team. This position involves performing complex administrative and supervisory work, including managing a dynamic case load of complaints, communicating with consumers and insurance companies, and providing administrative support.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Property and Casualty complaint staff by analyzing and distributing workload for assignments and ensuring efficient handling.
- Provide staff with mentoring and guidance on handling complaints and workload management, including evaluating and conducting training needs.
- Communicate with consumers and insurance companies, agents, and agencies to resolve issues and reach mutual understanding of facts.
- Manage a dynamic case load of complaints involving multiple lines of insurance.
- Coordinate with other functional areas of TDI.
- Handle escalated customer calls and provide technical correspondence to consumers, insurance company representatives, agents, and others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
This position requires a combination of education and experience:
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in business, public administration, or a related field.
- Plus, four years of experience related to the position.

- Demonstrated knowledge of state laws, rules, procedures, and regulations relevant to job requirements.
