About the role
In this role, you will supervise general maintenance and construction projects across state facilities. You will plan, assign, inspect, and prioritize daily maintenance activities while coordinating work with other supervisors to keep projects moving efficiently. You will prepare project estimates, approve material requests, and maintain accurate project and repair records. You will provide technical guidance to maintenance staff, ensuring all work meets safety regulations and building standards. Training and supervising maintenance workers is also part of the job, along with supporting the security of assigned inmates.
You'd be a GOOD fit if
- You have at least six years of experience in facilities maintenance, construction, or maintenance administration, along with experience working with building construction methods, blueprints, and specifications.
- You bring solid knowledge of carpentry, welding, sheet metal work, and general maintenance practices, and you have strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- You can manage multiple projects at once while keeping accurate records and reports.
You'd be a GREAT fit if
- You have experience leading maintenance or construction teams and bring extensive hands-on skills in framing, finish carpentry, welding, and sheet metal fabrication.
- You are confident estimating project costs, managing resources, and coordinating multiple projects at once.
- You have experience training and mentoring maintenance staff or inmate work crews, and you are skilled at identifying operational improvements while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
