About the role

This job outlines a high-level manufacturing and supervision role in a correctional furniture factory. The position requires directing staff and inmates, managing production schedules and equipment maintenance, handling raw materials, conducting training, and maintaining facility security with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Plan operational schedules, evaluate workflow, recommend changes, and maintain quality and quantity controls.
  • Direct staff and inmates, assign production tasks, and run technical training programs with tracked records.
  • Review raw material needs, order supplies and machinery, and keep equipment properly maintained.
  • Secure tools and machinery, watch assigned inmates and respond to facility emergencies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma with two years, full-time, wage-earning experience in the manufacture of furniture.
  • OR four years, full-time, wage-earning experience in any production or manufacturing operation.
  • Up to two years of experience may be substituted for 30 semester hours on a year-for-year basis.
