About the role
This position reports directly to the Deputy and Assistant Deputy Director of Religious Services. Duties include overseeing and managing Chaplaincy and Volunteer Services Chaplains and programs in TDCJ Region V. Duties will include ensuring Chaplains are providing spiritual guidance through faith-based dorms and volunteer programs focusing on moral rehabilitation to improve public safety and reduce recidivism.
Qualifications
You'd be a GOOD fit if:
- You have a bachelor's degree in the science field and 7 years' experience in ministry
- You have 2080 volunteer hours as a Chaplain Certified Volunteer Assistant (CVCA)
- You have basic computer skills including knowledge with Microsoft word and excel
- You have good communication skills
- You have the ability to work well with others in team settings
- You have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
You'd be a GREAT fit if:
- You have a master's degree in divinity or ministerial studies and 5 years' experience in ministry field
- You have advanced computer skills with ability to create excel spreadsheets
- You have excellent communication and organizational skills
- You have the ability to oversee programs, coordinate, and supervise
- You have knowledge of multiple World Religions
- You have the ability to travel conducting site visits on a monthly basis to each facility within Region V
