About the role
MSA Safety is hiring at our Murrysville manufacturing plant for a TCM Mold Team member. This role involves operating French presses, sawing and grinding, operating riveting machines, performing machine set-ups and adjustments, assembling lamp brackets/cord holders and lugs, packing completed shells, and performing visual inspections with associated paperwork.
Shift & Pay
- 2nd shift: 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, Monday through Friday
- Pay rate: $27.56/hr
- Number of openings: 2
Responsibilities
- Operating French presses including loading raw material on the mold and unloading of molded parts
- Sawing and grinding excess material from hats using band saws and surface grinders as well as a waterjet cutting machine
- Operating a riveting machine to apply rivets to various shells
- Performing set-ups and adjustments on the machines, including die changes using power, air and hand tools and preparing raw material including cutting material that is used in the process
- Assembling lamp brackets/cord holder and lugs; operates punch press and clicker as needed
- Packing completed shells in TCM or in Hat Accessories
- Demand requirements may require moving to another position in the hat factory to inspect or pack shells
- Visually inspecting and maintaining paperwork
- Entering paperwork into database
- Customer demand and/or seasonal limitations may require temporary work assignment to other departments in the Murrysville facility
Requirements
- Ability to wear an air purifying respirator
- Ability to read and understand drawings, work instructions and test procedures
- Ability to understand standard units of measure
- Ability to set-up and interpret results of various measuring devices
- Ability to lift 30 pounds without assistance
- Ability to use power and hand tools
- Ability to operate simple machines
- Ability to effectively communicate with various levels within the organization including training of new and temporary associates
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritize and organize work
- Ability to perform lockout/tagout
- Ability to obtain fork truck license
- Ability to use waterjet machine
- Ability to pack shells
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 6 months past manufacturing experience
- Must be able to successfully meet the requirements for respirator fit test, audiogram and PFT test
