TCEQ - Program Supervisor VI (OCE Employees Only)

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise team activities to meet program goals and objectives.
• Monitors the progress of program work plan elements to ensure timely and technically accurate work products.
• Approve investigation reports and correspondence and correct nonconforming work.
• Participate in interviewing and hiring team members.
• Mentor staff and complete performance management functions.
• Address employee issues accordingly.
• Communicate the status of policy implementation, team performance, and other significant issues to management and recommend appropriate actions as necessary.
• Contributes to the continual improvement of the section’s management system.
• Provides outreach and technical assistance concerning policy and technical issues to the public, regulated community, and other agency customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in planning, developing, coordinating, and/or implementing major agency programs.
• Experience in training, leading, assigning and/or prioritizing the work of others.
• Experience in the administration of a program relevant to the assignment OR graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to the assignment.
• Ability to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure (communication, cybersecurity, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment, water treatment facilities) as required by Tex. Business & Commerce Code §117.001(2).

Schedule

Standard business hours are M‑F, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Houston Region Office.
