Taxpayer Services Technician/Taxpayer Services Technician, Senior (Public Service Representative)

Responsibilities

• Assists customers with a variety of transactions, such as property tax payment collections and the issuance of birth, death, and marriage records.
• Greet and assist customers at the service counter.
• Process mail-in requests.
• Ensure accurate and efficient completion of transactions.
• Supports division operations by completing assigned or self-directed tasks during slower periods.
• Handles payments or transactions, including receiving payments, issuing receipts, and balancing a cash drawer or daily transactions.
• Completes data entry, transaction processing, or review of information for errors.
• Uses computer systems or web-based applications to enter information, process transactions, or retrieve customer records.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience with customer service, financial reporting, and database management is preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to remain organized and effective in a public service environment.
• Flexible and able to balance busy customer service periods with other tasks.

Pay

$21.53 - $22.79 hourly (May be hired at the Taxpayer Services Technician, Senior level depending on qualifications)

Schedule

This is a 40 hour per week position, with work hours scheduled Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Additional hours may be required during peak work periods.
