Tax Senior Manager, International Tax Services
About the role
An International Tax Senior Manager advises clients on tax implications, recommends actions, and complies with tax regulations. They also market and develop business relationships, serve as a leader in tax services, and manage international tax services.
Responsibilities
- Tax Consulting: Develops and implements international tax consulting ideas, ensures compliance with firm policy for Written Tax Advice (WTA), and resolves complex taxation issues.
- Tax Specialization: Develops in-depth understanding of international tax, acts as an expert, and manages international tax services.
- Marketing and Business Development: Exhibits thought leadership, builds marketing plans, and collaborates with partners and managers to develop strategies.
- Tax Compliance: Manages client engagements, reviews international tax aspects, and identifies complex issues. Manages tax controversy representation before U.S. tax authorities.
- Tax Controversy: Manages tax controversy representation before U.S. tax authorities on international tax aspects of contested issues.
- Other duties as required: Supervises tax professionals, provides performance feedback, and contributes to the professional development of team members.
Requirements
Eight (8) or more years of prior experience in corporate tax, international taxation, legal professional services, or equivalent experience gained through an advanced degree program. Experience in international tax, experience supervising tax professionals, CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent certification are required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting.
- J.D., LLM, or MST/MBT, preferred.

- Superior analytical and legal/tax research skills.
- Strong organizational skills, especially for meeting project deadlines.
- Ability to work independently or within a group, handle multiple projects, and build strong relationships.
- Advanced knowledge of sources of relevant information and filing forms.
- Advanced understanding of technical and practical issues and opportunities regarding one or more areas of taxation and law.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of general calculations and cause/effect for taxable conditions.
- Legal writing background and familiarity with the IRAC method of analysis.
- Knowledge of sources of relevant information utilized in tax filings and the most widely-used filing forms.
