Tax Senior Manager, Core Tax Services
About the role
The Senior Tax Manager provides tax and consulting services to business clients with pass through entities and their business owners. This includes S-corps, LLCs, Partnerships, estates, trusts, and charitable entities. Responsibilities also involve tax compliance, strategy development, and client relationship management.
Responsibilities
- Performs tax planning, preparation, and research for pass through entities and individual returns
- Manages client engagements, supervises and reviews work of team staff members, and works closely with clients and internal managers
- Contributes to client satisfaction by providing timely services and work product
- Ensures clients comply with all applicable authorities while minimizing their tax and reporting burdens
- Conducts top-level review of tax returns and resolves issues with clients, involving specialists as necessary
- Plans and reviews the tax process, budgets, and staffing, monitors engagement process, and manages A/R
- Manages client relationships and expectations, providing timely advice and resolving issues
- Identifies and conducts research on tax issues, clearly framing and reporting findings
- Develops and implements strategies to improve client positions, the Firm, or Firm personnel
- Develops and maintains client relationships, acts as primary client contact for preparation and resolution of issues
Requirements
Eight (8) or more years of relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience, required. Specific experience with pass through entities, estate, trust, partnership, S-corporation, and private foundation tax/consulting clients is essential. Prior supervisory experience is required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics, preferred
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation, preferred
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or the equivalent of one of these designations), required
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to role, preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay
California Range: $146,000 - $200,000
Colorado Range: $120,000 - $185,000
Illinois Range: $140,000 - $190,000
Maryland Range: $150,000 - $180,000
Massachusetts Range: $150,000 - $206,000
Minnesota Range: $130,000 - $190,000
New Jersey Range: $155,000 - $200,000
Ohio Range: $125,000 - $200,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $180,000 - $225,000
Washington Range: $150,000 - $200,000
Washington DC Range: $162,000 - $190,000
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
