Tax Manager, Tax Automation & Innovation

Job Summary

The Tax Manager, Tax Automation & Innovation, as a member of the Tax Automation & Innovation team, collaborates with clients and team members to implement tax automation tools. Responsibilities include marketing, networking, and business development, as well as assessing and improving client tax department operations.

Job Duties

  • Tax Consulting
    • Qualifies viability of prospective clients or projects
    • Identifies opportunities to expand current business
    • Understands the full picture of a client's tax functions and develops unique strategies aligned with business objectives
    • May lead planning or project delivery meetings
    • Aids in managing client expectations and requirements
    • Gathers client requirements, estimates fees, and prepares scoping and proposed solutions for client proposals
    • Communicates complex technical items to target audiences
  • Engagement / Project Management
    • Demonstrates advanced project and process management skills
    • Works with Tax AI leadership to set strategy and methodology
    • Executes standard project setup procedures, tracks billing, and ensures project economic management
    • Collaborates with project teams and clients to develop and implement projects
    • Constructs a comprehensive business case for clients
  • Client Service
    • Clearly identifies clients' business requirements and expectations
    • Communicates status to clients and responds to requests
    • Navigates complex issues for clients

Education Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or Technology, required
  • Graduate degree preferred
  • Five (5) or more years of experience with technology or tax systems, required
  • Experience with ASC 740 tax accounting, consulting, or income tax compliance preferred
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • Certification in one of the following technologies, required: Corptax, Longview, Orbitax, OneStream, Thomson Reuters, Alteryx, or Microsoft Power Apps
  • Multiple certifications preferred
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Software experience with one (1) or more of the below software / tools preferred: Bloomberg, Corptax, Longview, OneStream, Oracle, RPA tools (UiPath, Power Automate, etc.), ETL tools (Alteryx, Power Query, Power Pivot, Tableau Prep, etc.), Visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.), Microsoft Excel, advanced Microsoft Excel skills
