About the role

KPMG is seeking a Manager to join our Mergers & Acquisitions practice. This role involves advising clients on corporate and partnership tax services, working on complex partnership and go-public transactions, and assisting with historical partnership allocations.

Responsibilities

Advising clients on corporate and partnership tax services including planning, research, and mergers and acquisitions activities
Executing on complex partnership transactions such as buy-side and sell-side acquisitions, dispositions, mergers, and restructurings
Participating in and contributing to market and business activities external to the firm, providing direction to and maintaining managerial accountability for a team
Mentoring and counseling staff-level team members

Qualifications

Minimum five years of recent experience in federal tax and/or mergers and acquisitions in a public accounting firm, corporate tax department, or law firm
Bachelor's degree, J.D., LL.M. in taxation, and/or Master's in taxation (MST) from an accredited college/university
Licensed CPA, EA or JD/LLM, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing
Knowledge of a broad range of corporate and partnership tax matters in various industries
Ability to handle multiple engagements and client service teams
Possess an interest in developing, motivating, and training associate and senior associate level team members
Excellent modeling, research, and writing skills

Additional Qualifications for Senior Manager

Minimum eight years of recent experience in federal tax and/or mergers and acquisitions in a public accounting firm, corporate tax department, or law firm
Experience mentoring and counseling staff-level team members
