About the role

KPMG is seeking a Manager to join our Mergers & Acquisitions practice. This role involves advising clients on corporate and partnership tax services, working on complex partnership and go-public transactions, and assisting with historical partnership allocations.

Responsibilities

  • Advising clients on corporate and partnership tax services including planning, research, and mergers and acquisitions activities
  • Executing on complex partnership transactions such as buy-side and sell-side acquisitions, dispositions, mergers, and restructurings
  • Participating in and contributing to market and business activities external to the firm, providing direction to and maintaining managerial accountability for a team
  • Mentoring and counseling staff-level team members

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of recent experience in federal tax and/or mergers and acquisitions in a public accounting firm, corporate tax department, or law firm
  • Bachelor's degree, J.D., LL.M. in taxation, and/or Master's in taxation (MST) from an accredited college/university
  • Licensed CPA, EA or JD/LLM, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing
  • Knowledge of a broad range of corporate and partnership tax matters in various industries
  • Ability to handle multiple engagements and client service teams
  • Possess an interest in developing, motivating, and training associate and senior associate level team members
  • Excellent modeling, research, and writing skills

Additional Qualifications for Senior Manager

  • Minimum eight years of recent experience in federal tax and/or mergers and acquisitions in a public accounting firm, corporate tax department, or law firm
  • Experience mentoring and counseling staff-level team members
