About the role

This position ensures tax returns and payments meet state requirements by reviewing information and supporting taxpayer assistance.

Responsibilities

• Taxpayer Assistance: Help taxpayers file taxes through Telefile or myPath and provide information when needed
• Payment Processing: Review, apply, and adjust payments to ensure proper posting on accounts
• Account Review: Examine correspondence, assessment responses, and returns to determine accuracy and required action
• Credit Transfers: Transfer credits or payments to correct accounts or periods when errors are identified
• Calculations Work: Calculate penalties, interest, and payoff figures using spreadsheets or calculators
• Communication Duties: Contact taxpayers by phone or in writing to verify information and explain policies and procedures

Requirements

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of general office work; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirement: You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Qualifications

Legal Requirement: This position will have access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and is subject to the provisions of IRS Publication 1075 (Pub 1075) which requires you to pass an enhanced background check prior to beginning employment.

Benefits

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time after successful completion of the in-office training period of 6 months. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

Schedule and Additional Information

• Work Schedule: Full-time employment
• Work Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch or 9:00 AM to 5: PM with 30 minute lunch
