Responsibilities
- Oversee the company’s corporate tax activities, including preparing and reviewing income tax provisions that support consolidated external financial reporting.
- Cook up entity-level tax filings and related schedules, working closely with external advisors to ensure timely and accurate completion of required submissions.
- Act as the main point of contact for outside tax consultants, managing information requests, tracking deliverables, and reviewing work product for quality and control compliance.
- Support broader tax matters such as sales and use tax and property tax, including assisting with communications and issue resolution involving relevant tax authorities.
- Lead technical accounting assignments by assessing the impact of new guidance, documenting conclusions, and preparing supporting memoranda and disclosures.
- Contribute to the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for consolidated and subsidiary entities.
- Provide cross-functional backup within the accounting leadership team by learning adjacent processes and maintaining access to critical documentation used in tax and reporting cycles.
- Partner with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and tax specialists to support audits, compliance initiatives, and other finance-related projects as needed.
- Foster strong working relationships across departments while promoting a collaborative, accountable, and values-driven team environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
- CPA designation or an equivalent credential.
- At least 7 years of progressive accounting and tax experience, including work with a public company environment.
- A minimum of 2 years of direct experience in a tax-focused role within public accounting firm.
- Knowledge of corporate tax compliance and annual income tax provision processes; experience with U.S. GAAP reporting is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with large data and software, ideally SAP.
- Strong analytical, research, and organizational skills with careful attention to accuracy and deadlines.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities, with the capacity to work independently and collaborate across functions.
