Tax & Accounting Manager
About the role
This position supports the Chief Accounting Officer across several key areas, including corporate-level financial reporting and analysis; management of divisional accounting and reporting; leading tax compliance, disclosure, and planning activities; assisting with corporate-level system and process improvements; internal control compliance; and special projects. The role requires the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across various functions of the Company, including the Global Leadership Team, FP&A, Divisional Finance, HR, and Legal.
Responsibilities
- Support the global monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process
- Assist in ensuring compliance with Company accounting policies and US GAAP
- Support pension accounting/disclosure reporting
- Support the annual insurance renewal process via data collection and validation from global finance teams
- Prepare the consolidated quarterly income tax provision and manage the year-end tax provision preparation and documentation, including required footnote disclosures
- Lead and coordinate with external tax consultants, and ensure timely and complete filing of tax extensions, estimated tax payments, and returns
- Maintain contemporaneous documentation of transfer pricing policies and practices to ensure compliance with domestic and international tax regulations
- Assist in developing and implementing tax strategies to optimize the Company’s tax position and align with overall business objectives
- Assist in the maintenance of critical accounting policies
- Assist with the implementation and documentation of internal financial controls
- Prepare annual asset impairment testing analyses
- Engage external auditors in technical accounting matters in a timely and comprehensive manner and manage data request lists in a timely and complete manner
- Prepare management reports and analyses, to be provided to the Global Leadership Team and other members of the finance organization
- Perform special projects and respond to ad-hoc requests
Requirements
- CPA required
- 7+ years’ experience in public accounting
- Strong US GAAP background
- Excellent communication / interpersonal skills and ability to understand the context of the audience (both internal and external) and adapt communication style as necessary
- Strong analytical capabilities as demonstrated by use of probing and thoughtful questions to ensure all relevant information is known and incorporated into decision making processes
- Ability to plan, multi-task, collaborate, and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Hands-on demonstrated ability to see the big picture / think broadly while also diving down into operational details
- International accounting experience and manufacturing accounting experience, a plus
- Experience with Sage Fixed Assets, LeaseQuery, Planful, MS Business Central, and MS Dynamics, a plus
Pay
The estimated annualized base salary range for this role is $140,000–$160,000. Compensation will vary based on skills and experience.
