Tax Advisory - M&A State and Local Tax Manager

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Manager to join our Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. This role focuses on advising private equity firms, corporate acquirers, and privately held businesses through all phases of the transaction lifecycle, including buy-side and sell-side due diligence, tax structuring, transaction planning, and post-close integration. The ideal candidate combines strong technical state and local tax knowledge with project management skills and the ability to build trusted client relationships.
Qualifications
- CPA, JD, MST, or equivalent professional credential preferred
- 5+ years of progressive experience in State and Local Tax, including meaningful M&A due diligence experience
- Experience in public accounting, consulting, or a transaction advisory practice
- Strong technical knowledge across multiple state and local tax disciplines
- Experience managing multiple client engagements and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong written communication skills with experience preparing client-ready reports
- Ability to manage multiple engagements in a team environment
- Ability and desire to travel as needed

Pay
Compensation Range: $117K - $192K
