Tax Advisory - M&A State and Local Tax Manager

About the role

Riveron collaborates with companies to navigate the constantly shifting tax regulatory landscape, offering comprehensive solutions to mitigate, defend, or optimize tax positions. As a strategic partner, we provide hands-on support, enabling our clients to streamline decision-making processes and achieve favorable tax outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Advising private equity firms, corporate acquirers, and privately held businesses through all phases of the transaction lifecycle, including buy-side and sell-side due diligence, tax structuring, transaction planning, and post-close integration.
  • Managing multiple client engagements and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Preparing client-ready reports and managing multiple engagements in a team environment.
  • Identifying and resolving tax challenges and enhancing internal tax functions.
  • Defending and resolving state audits.
  • Improving tax processes and ensuring compliance.

Requirements

  • CPA, JD, MST, or equivalent professional credential preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in State and Local Tax, including meaningful M&A due diligence experience.
  • Experience in public accounting, consulting, or a transaction advisory practice.
  • Strong technical knowledge across multiple state and local tax disciplines.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements in a team environment.
  • Thrive in an ever-changing, dynamic work environment and readily identify problems and instinctively look for solutions.
  • Enjoy participating in internal and external company initiatives such as community service, training, recruiting, and firm events.
  • Ability and desire to travel as needed.

$117K - $192K

Schedule

Full-time roles are eligible for a full range of benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, and PTO. Contract roles are not eligible for benefits.
