TAUC | NMAPC Marketing & ...
Full-time, in-person role in Arlington, VA. Preferred experience: 3–5 years.
Position Summary
The Association of Union Constructors (TAUC) and the National Maintenance Agreements Policy Committee (NMAPC) are seeking a highly organized Marketing & Communications Project Manager to support the day-to-day operation of a busy communications department. This is not primarily a content creation or graphic design role. The Project Manager is responsible for keeping communications projects organized, on schedule, accurate, and moving toward completion.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, this position will coordinate workflows across internal staff, outside agencies, designers, video producers, printers, digital vendors, and other partners. Department leadership will establish strategy, priorities, messaging, and major deadlines; the Project Manager will help translate those decisions into clear timelines, assignments, deliverables, and follow-up.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a creative environment without necessarily being a creative professional. They should understand enough about marketing, design, web, print, video, and digital communications to coordinate those functions effectively. The goal is simple: make sure the right work gets completed, reviewed, approved, and delivered to the right audience at the right time.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Campaign Coordination
- Maintain marketing and communications project schedules, campaign calendars, production timelines, and deliverable trackers.
- Turn meetings and project discussions into clear assignments, owners, deadlines, and next steps.
- Track multiple simultaneous projects across TAUC and NMAPC and proactively follow up on outstanding deliverables.
- Identify scheduling conflicts, missing information, delayed work, or competing priorities and elevate issues to department leadership when necessary.
- Coordinate campaign execution across email, social media, websites, digital advertising, print, video, and event-related communications.
- Support project intake from other departments and help move approved requests into the Marketing & Communications workflow.
Quality Assurance
Quality control is a core responsibility of this position.
- Proofread and review materials for spelling, grammar, formatting, consistency, and factual accuracy.
- Verify dates, names, times, locations, registration information, sponsor information, links, QR codes, attachments, and other critical details.
- Confirm that the correct audience, approved version, and appropriate materials are being used before distribution or production.
- Maintain orderly project files and basic version control.
- Regularly review published and scheduled communications to ensure information remains current and accurate.
This position is not expected to serve as the department’s primary writer or designer. It is expected to catch the wrong date before 5,000 people receive it.
Marketing Technology & Distribution
- Develop a strong working knowledge of Salesforce Account Engagement, Cvent, and other communications platforms used by TAUC and NMAPC.
- Assist with audience segmentation, campaign setup, communications scheduling, and distribution workflows.
- Ensure email, social media, and other digital communications are prepared and distributed according to approved schedules, whether execution is handled internally or by an outside partner.
- Monitor campaign activity and maintain accurate distribution and performance records.
- Gather and organize analytics from email, social media, advertising, websites, events, and other communications channels.
- Flag meaningful changes, anomalies, or performance trends for department leadership.
- Track digital advertising activity and spend as needed.
Creative, Vendor & Event Coordination
- Coordinate with graphic designers, video producers, printers, web professionals, agencies, and other outside vendors.
- Ensure vendors and internal creative staff have the copy, assets, specifications, schedules, approvals, and information required to complete their work.
- Track drafts, revisions, approvals, and final deliverables.
- Maintain enough familiarity with creative production to effectively coordinate common needs such as file formats, proofs, print specifications, web assets, video review cycles, and production deadlines.
- Support the Marketing & Communications elements of TAUC and NMAPC events, including signage, programs, presentations, videos, promotional materials, sponsor recognition, and attendee communications.
- Travel to several organizational events each year to provide on-site Marketing & Communications support.
What We’re Looking For
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, project management, project coordination, account management, agency operations, or a related role.
- Exceptional organizational and project coordination skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines, stakeholders, and deliverables simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading and copy-editing skills.
- Ability to follow up persistently and professionally with colleagues, vendors, and partners.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Experience with marketing, CRM, email, event-management, project-management, or communications platforms.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Ability to work independently while operating within priorities and direction established by department leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Salesforce Account Engagement (formerly Pardot) and/or Cvent.
- Experience coordinating designers, agencies, video producers, printers, or other creative vendors.
- Familiarity with WordPress or other content management systems.
- Experience with email, social media, event, or digital communications workflows.
- Familiarity with analytics dashboards and campaign reporting.

Direct experience in union construction is not required, but the successful candidate will be expected to quickly develop an understanding of TAUC and NMAPC, their audiences, and the broader construction and marketing environment in which they operate.
The Right Person for This Role
The strongest candidate will be someone who enjoys knowing where every project stands, turns conversations into actionable next steps, notices missing details before they become problems, and is comfortable reminding people when something is due. They understand that “almost final” and “final” are different things, check the link before the email goes out, and know when an issue can be solved independently versus when it needs to be elevated. Above all, they are organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable keeping a complicated communications operation moving.
What’s Attractive to the Right Candidate?
- 401(k) - Employer Matching Contribution 100% of the first 3%, 50% of the next 2%, discretionary annual employer funding up to 15% of salary
- Generous employer-funded annual contribution of 15%
- Employer covers 65% of monthly healthcare premium
- Flexible Spending Account
- Employer-provided life, dental, short-term disability, and long-term disability coverage
- Generous vacation policies
- Opportunity to work across national events, campaigns, digital communications, publications, video projects, and industry initiatives
