Tape and Reel Assembler- Temp

About the role

Vishay Barry is currently seeking an Assembler 1 in the Tape and Reel area. The Assembler 1 is responsible for packing electronic components and will have the opportunity to enhance manufacturing skills by working in multiple areas of the Assembly Department. This on-site position involves handling, testing, and inspecting small electrical components.

Vishay Barry is located in Attleboro, MA, near main highways and restaurants. The facility spans 40,000 sq. ft. with 70 employees across two shifts. We are hiring for both first shift (7 AM–3:30 PM) and second shift (3:45 PM–12:15 AM), with a 10% pay differential for second shift operators.

Responsibilities

• Setup and operate a manual tape and reel machine.
• Read and interpret instructions on the traveler and customer specifications to process orders.
• Handle small electrical components.
• Visually inspect product using a microscope and tweezers, and document results.
• Perform varied tasks requiring flexibility, such as cover assembly, electrical tests, visual inspection, packaging, and other miscellaneous functions.
• Record work performed using computer skills.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and assigned work area.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• 1+ years of experience in production/manufacturing/machine operation preferred but not required.
• Ability to inspect parts as small as 1/32” in size under magnification.
• Excellent eye-hand coordination and good manual dexterity.
• High value on quality work and detail-oriented.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Fast learner with the ability to identify defects under a microscope.
• Computer experience required.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of personal ownership and a team attitude.

Pay

Pay rate is $18–$22 hourly, with a 10% added differential for second shift operators.

Schedule

• 1st shift: 7 AM–3:30 PM
• 2nd shift: 3:45 PM–12:15 AM
