About the role

CookieYes is seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Web Developer. This role focuses on building and maintaining cookie consent solutions that help websites achieve compliance with privacy regulations like GDPR and CCPA. You will work on our core products including the Consent Management Platform, Shopify App, WordPress Plugin, and Wix App.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cookie consent banners, preference centers, and consent management interfaces
• Implement script blocking functionality to auto-block third-party cookies based on user preferences
• Build and improve website scanning features for automated cookie detection and categorization
• Integrate with various platforms including WordPress, Shopify, Wix, and Squarespace
• Develop Google Consent Mode integration and IAB TCF v2.3 compliance features
• Create and maintain free tools including Privacy Policy Generator, Cookie Policy Generator, and Cookie Checker
• Implement geo-targeting features to display appropriate banners based on user location
• Build consent logging systems for proof of compliance
• Develop cookie widget functionality for consent withdrawal

Requirements

• Strong experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Proven experience developing plugins or extensions for platforms like WordPress, Shopify, or Wix
• Understanding of cookie technologies, tracking mechanisms, and browser storage
• Knowledge of privacy regulations including GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, and LGPD
• Experience with consent management and cookie compliance solutions
• Ability to write clean, well-structured, and maintainable code
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 2+ years of professional web development experience
• Experience with REST APIs and third-party integrations
• Familiarity with cross-browser compatibility and responsive design
• Understanding of web performance optimization techniques
• Experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework (React, Vue, or Angular)
