The Work You Will Do
Join our Organizational Development Office to help shape the future of transportation by creating impactful learning experiences as a Statewide Internship Coordinator! In this role, you’ll coordinate the Internship program that empowers rising professionals across the state. From recruiting to onboarding, you will inform best practices across all statewide internship operations.
Your Specific Responsibilities
- Serve as primary coordinator of the FDOT Internship Program. Support intern supervisors in position posting, interviewing, onboarding, and evaluating interns.
- Maintain regular communication with district Points of Contact to ensure adherence to policy and promote best practices in program administration.
- Maintain regular communications with Human Resources to ensure efficient hiring and onboarding practices.
- Cookout outreach and district participation in recruiting events and Shadow Day, and attend recruiting events as needed.
- Maintain operating budget for intern positions and recruiting events. Track budget expenses for monthly reporting for efficient use of resources.
- Develop and maintain structured document management systems, ensuring all files, templates, and forms are accurately organized, easily accessible, and promptly distributed to appropriate stakeholders.
- Serve as primary admin for recruiting software and maintain a community of practice for recruiting efforts.
- Assist the Organizational Development Office in reviewing, updating, and implementing policies, procedures, and operational guidelines to ensure alignment with statewide Internship Program objectives.
- Support the development, distribution, and execution of resources and job aids, ensuring consistency and compliance with organizational standards.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of processes, tools, and resources that strengthen both ODO systems and organizational development initiatives.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of basic concepts and practices relating to recruiting and hiring.
- Knowledge of basic program administration practices.
- Knowledge of basic budgeting and expense monitoring.
- Skill in policy analysis to interpret best practices and process improvements.
- Skill in working in a dynamic environment that requires critical thinking and strong analytical skills.
- Skill in effective communication; both verbal and written and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Skill in public speaking to various audiences at networking and tabling events.
- Skill in researching, compiling, and analyzing data to report findings and develop improvement solutions.
- Skill in maintaining accurate budget.
- Skill in innovating operations and/or identifying opportunities to improve program efficiencies.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Suite; including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, etc.
- Skill in producing and organizing supporting materials.
- Skill in event and program planning and coordination.
