Position Summary

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for managing the full-cycle recruitment process to attract, engage, and hire qualified candidates who align with the organization's mission, values, and workforce needs. This position partners with hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies, enhance candidate experience, and ensure compliance with all employment laws and organizational policies. The Talent Acquisition Specialist also supports employer branding initiatives, workforce planning, and continuous improvement of recruitment processes. In conjunction with the Internship Coordinator, responsible for networking with schools and colleges to create and sustain long term relationships. Assists with paid and unpaid internship onboarding. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will also assist with the administration of compensation and performance management as the first point of contact for policy questions and assisting with minor employee relation matters as needed.

About the role

Community Mental Health Affiliates, Inc. (CMHA) is a private non-profit treatment provider headquartered in New Britain, with seven locations throughout the city and in Waterbury. We partner with clients and the community to promote recovery from mental illness and substance use, treating more than 7,500 adults and children each year. CMHA is Connecticut’s first fully Joint Commission accredited Behavioral Health Home and is a SAMHSA Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC).

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process to attract, engage, and hire qualified candidates who align with the organization's mission, values, and workforce needs.
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies, enhance candidate experience, and ensure compliance with all employment laws and organizational policies.
  • Support employer branding initiatives, workforce planning, and continuous improvement of recruitment processes.
  • In conjunction with the Internship Coordinator, network with schools and colleges to create and sustain long-term relationships.
  • Absorb and onboard paid and unpaid interns.
  • Assist with the administration of compensation and performance management as the first point of contact for policy questions and assisting with minor employee relation matters as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, or related field.
  • Experience with recruitment software and databases.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter or similar ATS systems.

Pay

The salary range for this position starts at $62,500. Compensation for each position is determined not only by years of relevant experience, education, and skills, but also by maintaining internal pay equity. CMHA also takes into consideration our benefits and paid time off package to provide a well-rounded and competitive approach to the applicant’s overall compensation.

Schedule

This position is located in 233 Main St, New Britain, CT 06051. It is a Full-Time position with a First Shift schedule Monday through Friday.
