About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Talent Acquisition Specialist to play a critical role in sourcing, attracting, and hiring exceptional talent to support our programs and services. Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager, you will develop and implement recruitment strategies to build a robust talent pipeline while fostering a positive candidate experience. This is a hybrid role with an alternating in-office workweek schedule located in Brooklyn, New York.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute creative strategies to attract top talent via job boards, social media, referrals, and networking events.
  • Review resumes, conduct interviews, and assess qualifications to ensure alignment with job requirements.
  • Provide exceptional candidate experiences and maintain strong relationships throughout the recruitment process.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop tailored recruiting plans.
  • Ensure position accuracy through position control systems before initiating job postings or distributing offer letters.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment, including posting jobs, scheduling interviews, and generating offer letters.
  • Conduct intake meetings with hiring managers and track recruitment metrics for continuous improvement.
  • Access employee records to verify eligibility for promotions, transfers, or rehires.
  • Initiate personnel action forms and manage required documentation.
  • Provide guidance on interviewing, candidate selection, and offer negotiations while staying informed about talent acquisition trends.
  • Conduct bi-weekly meetings with hiring managers to provide updates on vacancies and progress.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in talent acquisition or recruiting, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (e.g., Paycom) and other HR tools.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with sourcing platforms, including LinkedIn, Indeed, and other job boards.
