Position Summary

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for managing the full-cycle recruitment process to attract, engage, and hire qualified candidates who align with the organization's mission, values, and workforce needs. This position partners with hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies, enhance candidate experience, and ensure compliance with all employment laws and organizational policies. The Talent Acquisition Specialist also supports employer branding initiatives, workforce planning, and continuous improvement of recruitment processes. In conjunction with the Internship Coordinator, responsible for networking with schools and colleges to create and sustain long-term relationships. Assists with paid and unpaid internship onboarding. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will also assist with the administration of compensation and performance management as the first point of contact for policy questions and assisting with minor employee relation matters as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • At least one (1) year Human Resources experience.
  • Applicant Tracking (ATS) experience.
  • HRIS experience.
  • Full cycle recruitment experience.

Preferred Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) or more years of HR experience in the health care and/or human services industry (non-profit industry a plus).

Essential Responsibilities and Target Outcomes

Manages the full recruitment lifecycle from requisition approval through candidate pre-onboarding.
Develops and implements cost-effective recruitment and retention strategies, both general and job-specific, to ensure the agency attracts and retains highly qualified candidates.
Creates and posts compelling job advertisements across multiple recruiting platforms.
Sources passive candidates through networking, social media, professional organizations, and talent databases.
Liaison with employment agencies, colleges and other recruitment sources.
In conjunction with the Internship Coordinator, networks with schools/colleges to build a pipeline of talent.
Point of contact for hiring managers related to the recruitment process and applicant tracking system (ATS).
Collaborates with hiring managers to understand job requirements and candidate preferences.
Reviews and screens incoming resumes to identify potential candidates.
Conducts pre-screening of applicants (via phone, video or in-person); analyzing responses; verifying references, salary and comparing qualifications to job requirements.
Communicates with candidates throughout the interview process, providing updates and gathering feedback.
Manages candidate data and records in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
Responds to employment inquiries and to all candidates in a timely manner. Provide shortlists of qualified candidates to the hiring managers via ATS.
Coordinates, as needed, and participates in job fairs and host in-house recruitment events.
Completes other required HR tasks as part of the recruitment and onboarding process.
Back up for the coordination of general orientation program for all new employees and presents as needed.
Provides training of best practices related to recruitment strategies and ATS.
Provides accurate and timely reports on talent acquisition activities.
Assists with compensation administration.
Assists with performance management, i.e. annual performance reviews, supervisions, goal administration and competency assessments.
Acts as the first point of contact for basic policy questions and assist with resolving employee relation matters.
Assists with special projects; i.e. software implementation, training & development.
Any and all other duties as assigned.

Community Mental Health Affiliates, Inc. (CMHA) is a private non-profit treatment provider headquartered in New Britain, with seven locations throughout the city and in Waterbury. We partner with clients and the community to promote recovery from mental illness and substance use, treating more than 7,500 adults and children each year. CMHA is Connecticut’s first fully Joint Commission accredited Behavioral Health Home and is a SAMHSA Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC).

Schedule

This position will be located in 233 Main St New Britain, CT 06051. (FT 1st shift Mon-Fri).

Pay

The salary range for this position starts at $62,500. Compensation for each position is determined not only by years of relevant experience, education, and skills, but also by maintaining internal pay equity. CMHA also takes into consideration our benefits and paid time off package to provide a well-rounded and competitive approach to the applicant’s overall compensation.
