About the role

The Talent Acquisition Coordinator will identify, attract, and screen pipelines of qualified candidates to help scale and support employee growth at Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU). As part of the Talent Team, this person will play a key role in sourcing and recruiting talented, mission-driven individuals to help others across campus achieve their goals. This role is crucial in achieving staffing goals and ensuring a seamless, high-quality, and positive hiring experience for both hiring managers and candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for all aspects of talent management, including job description crafting, sourcing, attracting, and hiring top talent.
  • Collaborate with leadership to implement and execute the staffing strategy at IWU.
  • Create and manage talent pools within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) for future openings and strategic hiring needs.
  • Ensure timely communication with candidates and hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
  • Coordinate job and career fair events, as well as community outreach efforts.
  • Support the Talent Acquisition Manager by issuing e-offers and handling onboarding paperwork (e.g., payroll forms, background checks, I-9 verifications).
  • Track and report key recruiting and campus metrics (e.g., time-to-hire, application volume, successful sourcing) to analyze recruitment strategies and drive improvements.
  • Create content-rich media (e.g., articles, highlighted benefits, testimonials, storytelling features) to attract interest in IWU.
  • Assist in building FAQ rules and responses for an AI-powered talent chatbot.
  • Create and manage job postings for faculty, staff, and temporary positions using the ATS.
  • Actively source exempt and non-exempt candidates through channels such as Indeed, Inside Higher Ed, HigherEdJobs, INVets, MSEP, and social media.
  • Provide instruction to end users on ATS processes, software, and utilization.
  • Review applications for required information and alignment with IWU’s mission and values.
  • Assess job descriptions to assign job families, salary ranges, and levels while ensuring position accuracy across the university.
  • Assist prospective candidates, new hires, and hiring managers with a welcoming and helpful attitude.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet departmental strategic goals.

Qualifications

  • All employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, training and development, or a related field (preferred).
  • One to three (1-3) years of professional experience with a keen interest in talent acquisition, recruitment, and human resources.
  • Experience or background in content creation, marketing, or technology is preferred.
  • Prior experience as a recruiter or sourcing specialist is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in developing, managing, and implementing processes and procedures is critical.
