Tactical Security Officer - Retail

Location: Salinas, CA / San Jose, CA

About the role

What matters most in a role like this is your ability to read the environment, anticipate risk, and act accordingly. As a Tactical Security Officer, physical ability is essential as you will be moving around your entire shift, patrolling environments such as retail stores, airports, detention centers, etc.

Responsibilities

• Observe, survey the area and provide reporting on activity at your assigned location.
• Able to work indoor and outdoor in a variable environment.
• Provide rapid response in critical situations.
• Read and write detailed reports.
• Enforce customer procedures, regulations, and standards.
• Patrol sensitive areas to spot any suspicious activity.
• React quickly to threats or incidents.
• Detain and search.
• Document incidents and actions taken.
• Respond to alarms and conduct on-site checks.
• Collaborate with law enforcement during serious incidents.
• Ensure the safety and protection of individuals and property.

Requirements

• State security license (BSIS Guard Card) and additional 32hr. BSIS security trainings. (Additional security trainings can be obtained during the hiring process)
• Documentation of HS Diploma or GED.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• At least five years of security experience.
• 21+ years of age.
• Baton permit.
• OC spray permit.
• Handcuff permit.
• First aid certification is an asset.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.

Security, Military, or Law Enforcement experience is a plus.

Pay

Competitive hourly wage of $34/hour depending on site pay.

Schedule

Full time, 40 hours per week.

• San Jose: Friday / Saturday, 9:00am - 5:30pm.
• Salinas: Sunday - Tuesday, 5:30pm - 2:00am.
