Tactical Security Guard - Retail

About the role

What matters most in a role like this is your ability to read the environment, anticipate risk, and act accordingly. As a Tactical Security Guard, physical ability is essential as you will be moving around your entire shift, patrolling environments such as retail stores, airports, detention centers, and more.

Responsibilities

• Observe, survey the area, and provide reporting on activity at your assigned location
• Work indoors and outdoors in a variable environment
• Provide rapid response in critical situations
• Read and write detailed reports
• Enforce customer procedures, regulations, and standards
• Patrol sensitive areas to spot any suspicious activity
• React quickly to threats or incidents
• Detain and search individuals when necessary
• Document incidents and actions taken
• Respond to alarms and conduct on-site checks
• Collaborate with law enforcement during serious incidents
• Ensure the safety and protection of individuals and property

Requirements

• State security license (BSIS Guard Card) and additional 32-hour BSIS security trainings (additional training can be obtained during the hiring process)
• High school diploma or GED
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• At least five years of security experience
• 21+ years of age
• Baton permit
• OC spray permit
• Handcuff permit
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time

Qualifications

• First aid certification is an asset
• Security, military, or law enforcement experience is a plus

Pay

Competitive hourly wage of $34 per hour, depending on site pay.

Schedule

Full time, 40 hours per week. Friday - Tuesday, 5:30pm - 2:00am.
