About the Role
As a T&M Specialist, you are responsible for actively driving and managing the sales process with Account Managers and Customers for Test & Measurement products. The T&M Specialist must articulate the company’s technology and product portfolio, positioning to both business and technical users. This role primarily engages in a technical consultancy capacity during the sales process.
Responsibilities
- Act as a factory-trained certified expert (where appropriate) for the TE sales organization.
- Build relationships within your contact base and professionally represent TestEquity brands (including Jensen, Techni-Tool, TestEquity, and the company’s own brand line).
- Allocate non-assigned leads, ensuring 100% are converted to opportunities and either closed/won or closed/lost.
- Attend meetings with customers and Account Managers to determine technical and business requirements, ensuring all necessary information is collated prior to producing a solution.
- Provide technical solutions in a professional manner and to agreed timeframes.
- Demonstrate products effectively to customers.
- Communicate the company’s Core Value Proposition and identify best practices to drive soft cost savings and increase customer partnership revenue.
- Create and deliver technical presentations internally and externally.
- Deliver training on solutions and provide product support to Account Managers and customers.
- Work with Product Management to provide feedback on current products and input on new products.
- Build productive relationships internally and externally, fostering teamwork by keeping colleagues updated on activities.
- Understand business drivers and risks for both the customer and the company.
- Sell technical solutions with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Ensure customer appointment diversity, proactively supporting a significant portion of the territory through on-site visits and growth efforts.
- Work strategically to understand industry trends affecting customers and identify initiatives to align trends with customer opportunities.
- Develop and communicate a compelling vision to support strategic initiatives for assigned customers.
- Establish strong relationships with customers, internal teams, and external partners at all levels.
- Focus on customer needs and satisfaction, resolving issues quickly and accurately while consistently achieving project goals.
- Indirectly and directly responsible for product quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field preferred, but not required.
- Engineering degree preferred.
- 2+ years of electronics distribution experience preferred, but not required.
- Familiarity with CRM systems.
- Sales pipeline/funnel management experience is a plus.
- Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel is required.
- Previous experience with major suppliers such as Keysight, Tektronix, Keithley, Rohde & Schwarz, Indium, 3M, Desco, or Excelta is preferred.
