About the role
This position requires strong knowledge of RF design and SW integration, experience with leading teams, and exposure to DO-254, DO-178C, and DO-160G standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with SW Requirements Development, proficiency in C, C++, and Assembly programming, and experience in DAL-A software development.
Responsibilities
- Develop and review software requirements
- Work in a team environment, including code reviews
- Utilize software development tools and version control systems
- Implement risk management strategies and participate in system testing
- Prepare planning documentation and certification documents
- Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Support flight tests, including wiring diagrams, engineering tools, JIRA, Bitbucket, and understanding of build processes
- Develop and maintain systems documentation and perform systems testing
- Manage lab hardware and equipment, ensuring proper configuration and calibration
- Collaborate with customers and ensure compliance with customer processes
- Lead projects and demonstrate a continuous learning mindset
- Participate in audits, troubleshoot issues, and work with ISC/QSR/Shipping and Receiving
- Apply knowledge of safety, aircraft interfaces, and installation
- Understand and adhere to regulatory documents such as SSA, FHA, SRTM, and TSO deviations
- Manage frequency approvals and system integration
- Work closely with FAA and other stakeholders
Qualifications
- Strong background in RF design and SW integration
- Experience with DO-254, DO-178C, and DO-160G standards
- Proficiency in C, C++, and Assembly programming
- Experience in DAL-A software development
- Experience with software development tools and version control systems
- Experience with continuous integration/deployment pipelines
- Understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and architecture principles
- Experience with various application areas supporting avionics functions, navigation, and airborne surveillance (TCAS, transponder, ADS-B, DME, UAT)
- Experience with flight test activities, including wiring diagrams, engineering tools, JIRA, Bitbucket, and understanding of build processes
- Experience with systems documentation development and systems testing
- Experience with lab and test equipment, and maintaining lab hardware/builds
- Experience with system integration and certification processes
- Experience with customer and FAA interfaces, understanding of safety, aircraft interfaces, and installation
- Experience with regulatory documents such as SSA, FHA, SRTM, and TSO deviations
