About the role
The Erebus Program is a newly awarded 7-year effort delivering cutting-edge intelligence and geospatial data management applications and services to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). As the premier geospatial intelligence program globally, Erebus supports over 14,000 intelligence analysts and decision-makers at 50 distinct locations worldwide. The program focuses on meeting current mission needs while pioneering future automation solutions for the NGA based on agency directives. We are developing innovative, machine-generated, and system-augmented geospatial analysis and production capabilities to revolutionize intelligence distribution.
In this role, you will serve as an embedded system engineer on a software development SCRUM team, assisting with system modeling, requirements definition, and user outreach to ensure proper design of the software architecture.
The applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems at all product levels (concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal).
- Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Assist with system modeling, requirements definition, and user outreach to support software architecture design.
- Work within a SCRUM team using tools such as Jira and Confluence to create and manage artifacts.
Requirements
- Strong foundational knowledge of engineering principles, system architecture, and design.
- Experience with the Cameo modeling tool.
- Experience creating artifacts using Jira and Confluence.
- Experience working within a Scrum team.
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of GEOINT analytic workflows.
- Understanding of Cedalion or Orchestration Services applications.
- Previous experience working on a software program.
- Comfortable completing user outreach and training.
- Proficiency in AI prompting as it applies to this position.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $118,000.00 - $219,100.00. Note that the salary information listed is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and market considerations when extending an offer.

For Washington state applicants only: Non-represented full-time employees accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) for incidental absences and receive at least 90 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
