Responsibilities
- Perform systems engineering activities for complex electronic systems, from concept to deployment, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, project requirements, and industry standards.
- Conduct system requirements analysis, definition, and allocation, translating customer needs into functional and technical requirements.
- Conduct system modeling, operations analysis, and requirements decomposition in support of system design.
- Conduct system level trade analysis of different design options including estimated development and operational costs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, and subject matter experts, to develop system architectures and design solutions that optimize performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Oversee system integration, verification, and validation activities to ensure compliance with functional requirements and performance objectives.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address technical challenges and ensure system safety, security, and interoperability.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop project plans, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery of milestones.
- Support the preparation of technical documentation, including system specifications, design documents, test plans, and reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project and contractual requirements.
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities, to understand their needs, address concerns, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related discipline with 2+ years of related experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Customer interfacing and ability to build relationships.
- Use of Model Based Systems Engineering principles to develop SysML Models and DOORS requirement management tool preferred.
- Ability to work in teams and independently with minimal direction.
- An existing U.S. Security Clearance is preferred. The ability to obtain one is required.
