About the role
The Systems Engineer II role within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Discipline supports LTAMDS. This role involves core systems engineering tasks, leading testing efforts, troubleshooting, analyzing data, driving performance, modeling and simulation, integrating systems, collaborating, documenting, and presenting findings.
Responsibilities
- Develop requirements and algorithms, concepts of operations, and define system interfaces.
- Develop and implement test plans, procedures, integration, and verification documentation in both simulated and real-world environments.
- Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging.
- Collaborate across functions to drive performance improvements and resolve system issues.
- Develop and execute models to predict system performance and support verification and validation.
- Integrate hardware and software into tactical systems, evaluating their functionality and impact.
- Work with and lead a multi-disciplinary team to achieve seamless integration and system functionality.
- Develop and manage requirements, generate technical documentation, conduct statistical and numerical analysis of radar performance data, and present findings to leadership and customers.
- Support missions by traveling to various locations including local RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations.
Qualifications
- A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with systems software, systems hardware, systems requirements, systems integration, and/or systems test.
- Experience developing both scripts and functions with MATLAB.
- Experience with DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, or other digital engineering tools.
- Experience with model-based engineering.
- Experience in developing and managing requirements.
- Experience with generating technical documentation, such as test plans, procedures, or technical reports.
- Experience working in an integration lab, test facility, or in the field, supporting integration and/or verification.
- Experience with evaluating systems using simulated environments.
- Experience interfacing with internal and external customers.
