Systems Engineer II
Location: Tewksbury, MA (Concord Building) – role can also be based in Andover, MA; Marlborough, MA; or Pelham, NH. Onsite only. Active and transferable U.S. DoD Secret clearance required on day one; U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
About the role
Raytheon is seeking a Systems Engineer II to join the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Discipline, supporting the LTAMDS Family of Radars (FoR). This position offers the opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle—from concept to deployment—collaborating across disciplines to troubleshoot issues, perform data analysis, and implement solutions that directly impact mission-critical defense systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop requirements, algorithms, concepts of operations, and system interfaces.
- Lead testing efforts: create and execute test plans, procedures, integration, and verification documentation in both simulated and real-world environments.
- Troubleshoot and analyze hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging.
- Drive performance improvements and resolve system issues across functions.
- Develop and execute models to predict system performance and support verification and validation.
- Integrate hardware and software into tactical systems, evaluating functionality and impact.
- Coordinate and lead multi-disciplinary teams to achieve seamless integration and system functionality.
- Develop integration documentation, execute plans, analyze data, verify requirements, and communicate results to leadership and stakeholders.
- Conduct statistical and numerical analysis of radar performance data to ensure optimal system performance and verify requirements.
- Present technical findings and solutions to leadership and customers.
- Travel up to 20% to support mission execution at RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations.
Requirements
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- Minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience in systems software, hardware, requirements, integration, and/or test.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, or other digital engineering tools.
- Experience with model-based engineering.
- Experience developing and managing requirements.
- Experience developing scripts and functions with MATLAB.
- Experience with C++, Python, or similar programming languages.
- Experience generating technical documentation (e.g., test plans, procedures, technical reports).
- Experience working in an integration lab, test facility, or field supporting integration and/or verification.
- Experience evaluating systems using simulated environments.
- Experience interfacing with internal and external customers.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $68,900 – $131,100 USD. The range is representative of all experience levels. Factors considered include role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
