Systems Engineer- Capabilities Integration, Journeyman
About the role
KAIROS, Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer, Journeyman to support the Heavy Lift Helicopters Program Office (PMA-261) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. This position provides critical systems engineering support for the CH-53K Capabilities Integration Team.
Responsibilities
- Provide systems engineering technical support to PMA-261’s CH-53K Capabilities Integration Team.
- Provide the technical research and analysis of emerging technologies at lower Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) to create advanced capabilities development roadmaps that can be presented to a CH-53K Engineering Review Board.
- Approximately 75% of this effort will be the pre-work required to neck down various emerging technologies to identify material/non-material solutions to fill identified gaps.
- Perform analysis of a technology’s TRLs maturation timeline, review Initial Capabilities Documents (ICDs) and SWAP requirements.
- Approximately 25% of effort will be post-award work to perform the System-of-Systems integration of various technologies and horizontal integration across Level II IPTs.
- Performs programmatic or technical knowledge identifying, formulating, designing, and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems; guiding the engineering development of modern complex systems; and employing systems engineering methods and tools in the development of systems.
- Coordinating engineering change proposals (ECPs), technical directives, and updates.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required.
- Experience with advance development of technology roadmaps. (Desired)
- Science & Technology (S&T) familiarity. (Desired)
- Strong customer relations, analytics, documentation skills
- Self-starter, highly motivated, strong work ethic with a commitment to quality
- Microsoft office suite proficiency, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint

- Bachelor’s degree in technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university.
- Five (5) years of recent and relevant experience.
Qualifications
This position is subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. In order to complete the requirements for government security clearance investigation you must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to complete the full background investigation. This position requires an Active Secret Security Clearance.

Pay
The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000 to $145,000. KAIROS also provides a comprehensive benefits package as additional employee compensation.
