Job Summary
AutoZone is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our expanding eCommerce B2B team. This role supports our commercial customer platforms, including the AutoZonePro.com website and our Mobile Apps.
Responsibilities
- Design, create, test, deploy, and support software applications
- Use software development life cycle to produce high quality software
- Develop software using Java, Spring boot
- Manage source code versioning with Git
- Test software using Postman/ JUnit
- Deploy code using Gitlab CI/CD
- Create alerts and dashboards for application support using Dynatrace
- Deploy and manage cloud-based solutions using Google Cloud Platform
- Quickly troubleshoot problems in development and production environments
- Document API request and response
- Coordinate with product owners and business partners to address business problems and document them
- Implement code/configuration changes to improve performance and reliability as necessary
- Participate in high-level design sessions and support on low-level designs
- Collaborate with Architects to contribute to high level design for new features and functionalities
- Ensure applications support scaling, automation, and self-healing processes
- Divide work into smaller subsets and delegate effectively
- Coach and mentor junior developers as needed
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure support for delivering features
- Track the time spent on this feature accurately in Clarity
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or MS in Computer Science, MIS, or a closely related field or the equivalent
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Developer or similar with a strong software development background in Java, Spring boot, RDBMS
- Experience in designing/developing/supporting high volume 24/7 customer facing applications
- Experience in Apache / Nginx, CDN (ex. Akamai / Cloudflare), NodeJS
- Experience with APIGEE and Google cloud Platform
- Previous experience in a team lead / formal mentorship role over an Engineering team
- Knowledge of source code management systems like GIT
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
- Able to perform tasks with little or no technical supervision with solid problem solving, domain technical and analytical skills
- Time-management skills are critical
