About the role

This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required in Patuxent River, MD, located in the California-Lexington Park area, Maryland’s #1 City Hiring the Most High-Tech Workers.

Responsibilities

  • Performs programmatic or technical leadership roles in identifying, formulating, designing, and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems
  • Guides the engineering development of modern complex systems
  • Employs systems engineering methods and tools in the development of advanced complex systems
  • Conducts research in applied systems engineering to advance the field
  • Participates and provides inputs to Anti-Tamper (AT) solutions throughout the program life cycle
  • Implements AT policies, instructions, and guidance in systems development
  • Participates in identification of weapon system critical program information (CPI) and determination of consequence of compromise
  • Conducts system trade-off analysis in recommending reasonable AT solutions
  • Develops and advocates AT contractual requirements in support of developmental programs
  • Facilitates evaluation of weapons system architectures for compliance to protection standards
  • Coordinates with program, service, Joint, and Department of Defense agencies to ensure system horizontal protection requirements are met
  • Assists the Navy Verification & Validation (V&V) team with assessment of AT designs and solutions
  • Supports program risk management, mitigation, and reporting
  • Communicates across technical teams to share information, address issues, and accelerate pace of new development
  • Serves as a Technical Review Board (TRB) member for systems technical events providing AT/SSE expertise

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related scientific discipline OR Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related scientific discipline with 4 years of additional work experience (14 years total)
  • Degree obtained from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
  • 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of weapons system architectures that resist reverse engineering
  • Programmatic/Technical knowledge identifying, formulating, designing, and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems
  • Experience guiding the engineering development of modern complex systems
  • Experience with application of systems engineering methods and tools in the development of weapon systems
  • Experience in Systems Engineering, SSE, and Anti-Tamper related to weapon systems and platforms
  • Experience in DoD Systems Acquisition Life Cycle
  • Experience with:
    • Anti-Tamper (AT)
    • Critical Program Information (CPI)
    • AT plans and procedures
    • AT Key Management Plans (KMPS's)
    • AT & V&V Plans
    • AT SOW's
    • Tri-Service Committee (TSC) briefs for submittal
    • FMS and export planning
    • Cryptographical methods
    • Holistic SSE
  • DoD Top Secret Clearance (required to apply; candidates who do not currently hold the required clearance will not be considered)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain additional security access requirements necessary to perform the duties of the position, as required by the contract

Physical Environment And Working Conditions

The physical environment requires working in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday. The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on-site or near the work site. On rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $160,000.00 - $195,000.00.
