Senior Systems Engineer/ Instructor (Anti-Tamper) 1
About the role
Supports the Special Programs Division, DoD Anti-Tamper (AT) Executive Agent Field Program Office (FPO) (AFLCMC/WAG-AT) at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. Conducts studies to identify new capabilities, matures laboratory technologies, and develops, tests, and rapidly fields new AT capabilities/products. Focuses on reducing developmental risk and associated cost and schedule growth, ensuring AT architectures are developed to protect US warfighters.
Responsibilities
- Apply DoD systems engineering process, policy, and procedures in the acquisition, manufacturing, fielding, and sustainment of new, existing, and future weapons systems and capabilities.
- Develop and update training materials for ATEA FPO Education and Outreach Lead.
- Instruct ATEA FPO sponsored educational courses in a classified environment.
- Provide engineering support for technology and product acquisitions, including long-term planning, RFP development, and technical oversight of ongoing projects.
- Review and analyze proposals for design feasibility and system compatibility.
- Evaluate acquired capabilities in achieving system design requirements and specifications.
- Identify technologies and evaluate system/subsystem design functions and improvements to protect Critical Program Information (CPI).
- Conduct engineering performance, supportability, schedule, and risk assessments and scheduling trade-off studies.
- Support Export Integrated Capability Team (ICT) initiatives and enterprise policy modernization.
- Author ad-hoc technical documentation to ensure continuous compliance and mission support.
Requirements
- Active TOP SECRET security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and access to Special Access Programs (SAP).
- Background investigation current within the past 5 years or under Continuous Vetting.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 12 years experience in an engineering position with the DoD, other government agency, or DoD contractor.
- Masters Degree in a relevant engineering discipline with a minimum of 10 years experience in an engineering position with the DoD, other government agency, or DoD contractor.
- Minimum 3 years of SAP or SCI experience within the last 8 years.
Qualifications
- Experience with Program Protection planning and implementation in weapon system programs.
- Experience evaluating current fielded weapons systems to determine anti-tamper and reverse engineering susceptibility based on vendor design.
- Experience working with industry to assess tamper resistance of current weapons systems within the acquisition development cycle.
- Instructor and curriculum development experience.
