Our client, a leading organization in data center and technology infrastructure, is seeking a Systems Design Engineer to join their team. As a Systems Design Engineer, you will be integral to maintaining and troubleshooting complex data center systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical expertise, proactive problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities, which will align successfully within the organization.
Location: Austin, TX. Pay Range: $55–$60/hr. on W2.
What's the Job?
- Manage and resolve complex hardware and software issues in data center environments through ticketing systems such as JIRA.
- Monitor data center operations for issues like power outages, network disruptions, and cooling leaks, taking prompt action to mitigate risks.
- Physically install, replace, and troubleshoot hardware components, including GPUs and CPUs, ensuring system integrity and performance.
- Debug firmware and operating system issues, utilizing Linux skills and scripting to analyze logs and automate processes.
- Collaborate with vendors, OEMs, ODMs, and internal teams to communicate issues effectively and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
What's Needed?
- Proven experience working with data center systems that include CPUs and GPUs, with a strong technical background.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues efficiently, with knowledge of debugging methodologies and tools.
- Strong communication skills to document issues clearly and work collaboratively with team members and external partners.
- Experience with ticketing systems such as JIRA, and familiarity with Linux environments and scripting.
- Physical capability to handle hardware installation and maintenance tasks in a data center setting.
