About the role

This position acts as a technical resource to team members by providing level III Deskside IT expertise in response to team members' requests, including research, quoting, procuring, scheduling, configuring, implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading supported technical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate team member small to medium sized requests and infrastructure projects
  • Research hardware and software options, quote, procure, schedule, configure, implement, troubleshoot, and upgrade supported technical solutions
  • Assign tasks/responsibilities to other IT teams to facilitate responses and provide troubleshooting assistance as required
  • Develop customized solutions into new product functionality for improved workflows and job functionality in conjunction with IS&T engineers
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Coordinators by assisting with implementation and support of new projects
  • Maintain the ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned while presenting and communicating complex technical details to a non-technical audience
  • Resolve issues during system installation and upgrades
  • Contribute content to technical knowledge base
  • Create and modify technical and team member documentation used in conjunction with hardware and software solutions
  • Perform and assist with level III hardware and software maintenance services
  • Maintain a basic knowledge of Exchange, SMTP, DNS, TCP/IP, MDT, Active Directory, Group Policy, application deployment, application virtualization, and scripting
  • Receive IT deliveries and maintain current inventory of desktop hardware including PC’s, laptops, monitors, printers, and other attached desktop peripherals through the use of our inventory management system
  • Experience with Microsoft Applications and Operating systems including Windows XP/7, Visio, Project, Office Pro 2007/2010 and 2013
  • Maintain the ability to work a flexible schedule (hours may vary), work after-hour implementations, perform on-call responsibilities and may include some evenings and weekends as needed

Requirements

Specific to College of Health Careers: Assist in the creation of accounts in the College’s digital applications and Single Sign on application. Assist in the creation of LMS courses, groups, and calendars. Assist in the troubleshooting of the College’s digital applications. Assist in the configurations of Client Network Printing. Provide remote assistance and troubleshooting. Provide Phone support experience to staff, students, and faculty. Provide Audio/Video set up’s and run the sound and video equipment used to create events such as meetings, classes, and interviews. Provide outstanding customer service and develop working relationships with faculty, staff, IT Services, and outside vendors.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • 3 years of previous Deskside hardware and software experience preferred
