Responsibilities
- Design, install, administer, manage, and tune software systems, hardware, and network connections to ensure high availability and security of supported business applications.
- Investigate and deploy software and hardware solutions to meet business needs.
- Analyze and resolve moderately complex hardware and software system problems in a timely manner.
- Ensure proposed and existing system architectures align with organizational goals and objectives.
- Recommend, schedule, and perform system improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
- Identify and resolve system performance issues; monitor system capacity and recommend enhancements to meet new or changing demands.
- Recommend changes and upgrades to systems to support current and future business needs.
- Plan, acquire, and coordinate installation of hardware and software for system improvements.
- Interact with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure system products and services.
- Work with vendors for system upgrades and/or implementations.
- Recommend changes to systems and security to prevent potential issues.
- Create and recommend strategies for business systems related to procedures, maintenance, and use.
- Analyze current application usage and plan for growth or increases in software licensing and network capacity.
- Document the company’s existing systems architecture and technology portfolio; recommend improvements and alternatives.
- Collaborate with PC Technicians and Systems Analysts to support other business activities and train others as needed.
- Build, install, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot server configurations, hardware, software, peripherals, and storage.
- Perform upgrades for new software releases, test/debug to ensure proper functionality, and evaluate software applications for improvements.
- Monitor storage and resource allocations to ensure proper levels are available.
- Replace defective or inadequate hardware and software.
- Work with service personnel to correct major hardware problems.
Requirements
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in System Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of system administration experience.
- Experience in applicable systems; Systems Administration certification is a plus.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Proven analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly language.
- Highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail.
- Skilled at working in a collaborative environment.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Pay
The pay range for this hourly, exempt position is $66,237 - $86,108.
Schedule
This is a full-time, hybrid position requiring you to be in the office 4 days a week with the option to work from home 1 day a week. Standard in-office days are Monday and Wednesday, with the third and fourth in-office days determined by divisional management. Work schedules and office reporting requirements may change based on business needs.
