About the role
As a Systems Administrator SME at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in supporting a new operations center by maintaining operational equipment to monitor various systems. You will collaborate with people who are driven and resourceful, advancing how our customers operate while you advance your career.
Responsibilities
- Lead the initial installation, configuration and maintenance of servers including physical and virtual environments.
- Manage Active Directory and other core IT services for the new Operations Center.
- Monitor systems performance and troubleshoot highly complex issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Perform maintenance such as patch management, updates and backups.
- Plan and execute systems upgrades and hardware/software installations.
- Ensure systems are updated with latest security patches and software updates.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access and vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate closely with customer to make sure all deliverables meet their standards.
- Drive innovation by resolving unexpected challenges and lean on our existing team at other locations whom support this customer.
Qualifications
- Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree.
- Experience: 10+ years of related experience.
- Security clearance level: TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- US citizenship required.
- Role requirements: The management and operation of critical IT systems, rather than routine clerical tasks. The position requires independent judgment and discretion in planning, implementing, and maintaining complex systems, security measures, and performance standards, as well as collaborating with the customer and leading technical initiatives which are all hallmarks of an administratively exempt role.

Pay
The likely salary range for this position is $147,292 - $199,278.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40. Travel Required: Less than 10%. Telecommuting Options: Onsite. Work Location: USA VA Reston.
