About the Role

The Systems Administrator plays a critical role in maintaining and optimizing the organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring systems are secure, stable, and operating efficiently. This position is responsible for supporting Windows server environments, monitoring system performance, and resolving technical issues to minimize disruption and support business continuity. In this role, you’ll work in a fast-paced, 24x7 production environment, partnering with internal teams and external vendors to maintain system health, implement improvements, and support ongoing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and support Windows server environments to ensure reliable and secure system operations
  • Install, configure, and support hardware and software across production systems
  • Monitor system performance, logs, and alerts to identify issues and proactively address potential risks
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and system-related problems in a timely manner
  • Analyze root causes of system issues and implement solutions to improve long-term stability
  • Coordinate and schedule maintenance activities, including patches, updates, and system upgrades
  • Track and manage incidents through resolution, ensuring accurate documentation and follow-up
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to support system operations and maintenance efforts
  • Install and configure new hardware components within a data center environment
  • Monitor system utilization and performance to identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements
  • Maintain detailed documentation for operational procedures, troubleshooting, and system configurations
  • Support disaster recovery and fault tolerance efforts, including backup and restoration processes
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members to promote operational efficiency
  • Support a 24x7 production environment, including participation in off-hours maintenance and on-call support as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or a related field OR equivalent experience, including 5+ years working in a Microsoft server environment
  • 4 to 6 years of experience supporting production server hardware/software, Active Directory, and network infrastructure
  • Experience working in a 24x7 production environment preferred
  • Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting enterprise systems and infrastructure preferred

Skills

  • Expert knowledge of Active Directory, including user accounts, groups, and policies
  • Expert knowledge of Windows Server environments, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of networking infrastructure and ability to support complex environments
  • Experience with server virtualization technologies and concepts
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery and backup/restore processes
  • Experience with fault tolerance technologies such as RAID and system redundancies
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, diagnose issues, and implement solutions
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, both technical and non-technical
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and IT operational best practices
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Cisco environments
  • Experience with storage technologies including SANs and storage management solutions
  • Knowledge of patch management processes and tools
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and participate in an on-call rotation
