About the role
Join GDIT as a Systems Administrator Senior to support the mission of US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). Your responsibilities include system administration, personnel management, and ensuring the reliability and performance of IT systems.
Responsibilities
- Assigns personnel to various projects, directs their activities, and evaluates their work.
- Evaluates long-term requirements of systems operations and administration.
- Installs, maintains, configures, and ensures the integrity of computer software.
- Implements operating system enhancements to improve system reliability and performance.
- Manages desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks.
- Provides support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
- Manages IT system infrastructure and processes related to these systems.
- Supports IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
- Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves problems for IT systems.
- Communicates status to agency management and internal customers.
- Supports the dispatch system and hardware problems, remaining involved in the resolution process.
- Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems.
- Installs, loads operating system and application software.
- Isolates and resolves hardware and software problems.
- Troubleshoots, maintains integrity, and configures network components.
- Implements operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
- Integrates new technologies into new and existing systems, including the transition and migration of corporate systems.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience: 12+ years of related experience.
- Technical skills: In-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems, providing detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
- Certifications: DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract. Security+ or equivalent Computing Env: MSCA 2016, Microsoft Azure Administrator or equivalent (Must obtain the full AZ104 Microsoft Azure Administrator within 180 days from start date.)
- Clearance: TS/SCI clearance level required, with the ability to obtain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract.
- US Citizenship: Required.
- Travel: 10-25%.
- Telecommuting: Onsite work location only.
Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years of related experience.
- Technical skills: Ability to provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems, providing detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
