About the role

Join GDIT as a Systems Administrator Senior to support the mission of US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). Your responsibilities include system administration, personnel management, and ensuring the reliability and performance of IT systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assigns personnel to various projects and evaluates their work.
  • Evaluates long-term requirements of systems operations and administration.
  • Installs, maintains, configures, and ensures the integrity of computer software.
  • Implements operating system enhancements to improve system reliability and performance.
  • Manages IT system infrastructure and processes related to these systems.
  • Supports IT systems, including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves problems related to IT systems.
  • Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Supports the dispatch system and hardware problems, remaining involved in the resolution process.
  • Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems.
  • Installs and loads operating system and application software.
  • Isolates and resolves hardware and software problems involving applications, operating systems, hardware, and communications infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoots, maintains the integrity of network components, and implements operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Integrates new technologies into new and existing systems, including the transition and migration of corporate systems.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience: 12+ years of related experience.
  • Technical skills: In-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems, providing detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
  • Certifications: DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager, CISSP, Security X or equivalent.
  • Experience: Ability to provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
  • Clearance: TS/SCI clearance level required.
  • US Citizenship: Required.
  • Travel: 10-25% travel required.
  • Telecommuting: Available.
