About the Role

Trace Systems is actively recruiting a Systems Administrator (Lotus Domino) to maintain inventory control over all CAS and NTIRA material assets for servers, including license keys, server hardware, and software installed on production, test, and development servers. The role involves monitoring server and system performance to optimize hardware and virtual machine usage.

Responsibilities

  • Configure system hardware and software to comply with current DoD, Navy, and local command policies.
  • Set and administer servers, server storage space allotments, resource reservations, and directory assistance.
  • Maintain user administration and access control of servers, applications, and virtual machines per NAVIFOR and Navy policy.
  • Manage and administer all e-mail messaging systems and associated software and hardware.
  • Administer servers running on all OS platforms.
  • Add, remove, certify, and move new or existing end-user accounts; administer permissions and access rights.
  • Administer messaging systems access and support efforts for remote users.
  • Create private and public mailing databases, folders, lists, calendaring services, address books, and shared mail applications.
  • Monitor and analyze e-mail system activities to ensure maximum performance, efficiency, and availability.
  • Test e-mail server software performance and provide statistics and reports.
  • Analyze e-mail system or application usage and plan for growth or increases in network capacity.
  • Administer and maintain CAS and NTIRA databases, anti-virus management, and error log tracking.
  • Identify and resolve problems affecting applications, messaging systems performance, efficiency, and availability in a timely manner.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements, upgrades, and/or purchases.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot mail routing and replication.
  • Perform bi-weekly maintenance, including patches, upgrades, and other necessary tasks on identified enclaves in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly backups of virtual machines on identified enclaves in accordance with SOPs.
  • Interface with network owners to identify and solve network issues affecting the systems.
  • Track, manage, and maintain ports, protocols, and services, including managing port exceptions to ensure operations of CAS and NTIRA.
  • Develop, execute, and manage a disaster recovery plan to respond to failures within twenty-four hours and provide at least partial resumption of mission or business essential functions.

Requirements

  • Active, in-scope US Government issued Top Secret clearance; US citizenship is required.
  • Six (6) years of experience providing Systems Administrator service desk services (Tiers I, II, and III) across a variety of hardware platforms and software programs.
  • Seven (7) years of demonstrated experience working with Windows Server, MS Office, Symantec Endpoint, and other third-party tools.
  • Demonstrated experience performing Information Assurance (IA) security procedures, including scanning and mitigating actions.
  • Experience working with TeamStudio, Tomcat, JIRA, or similar software (e.g., SourceSafe, CVS).
  • Demonstrated experience in a software testing environment.
  • Experience administering HCL Domino and Notes environments (on-premises or cloud).
  • Strong understanding of Domino server architecture, clustering, replication, and security.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server and/or Linux environments.
  • Knowledge of network concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, and security protocols.
  • Experience with scripting or automation (PowerShell, Bash, or similar) is a plus.
  • Ability to diagnose complex technical issues and implement solutions effectively.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and customer service skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other Engineering discipline.
  • Experience with HCL Domino Volt or XPages (desired).
  • Familiarity with integration tools (REST, LDAP, API gateways) (desired).
  • Exposure to enterprise monitoring platforms such as Splunk, SolarWinds, or similar (desired).
  • Understanding of broader collaboration platforms or migration concepts (desired).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., HCL Domino Administrator, IBM Certified System Administrator) are a plus.
