About the Role

This is a new role created due to company growth. The client needs a well-rounded, technically deep systems administrator/engineer who is comfortable calling vendors, a problem solver, and service-oriented and collaborative. This is a hands-on position requiring 5+ years of experience. The role works 5 days onsite and includes on-call responsibilities for network issues.

Responsibilities

Manage and support a 90% on-premises technical environment with a strong preference for keeping data on-premises and a security-first mindset.
Handle enterprise computer networking, including routing, switching, and firewall management.
Administer Windows Server (2016+), Active Directory, and MS Exchange Server (2010+).
Work with transactional SQL DBMS, SAN/NAS, and some Linux/Unix exposure (nice to have).
Participate in current initiatives, including transitioning from Cisco routers to Check Point firewalls with SD-WAN and ongoing infrastructure upgrades.
Be on-call for any network issues.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience as a systems administrator/engineer.
Strong enterprise networking experience (Cisco enterprise networking and Check Point Firewall preferred).
Strong knowledge of dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, or IGRP/EIGRP), telecommunications circuits, TCP/IP, NAT, OSI topology, IP telephony (SIP, WebRTC), AAA/TACACS+, RADIUS, DNS, subnetting (CIDR, VLAN/PVLAN), port aggregation, wireless networking (protocols, autonomous/mesh, security standards), ACLs, QoS, SDWAN, policy based routing, zone based firewall, and advanced troubleshooting techniques.
Moderate system administration experience with Windows Server (2016+), Active Directory, transactional SQL DBMS, SAN/NAS, and MS Exchange Server (2010+).
Minimum of two mid-level or higher certifications from one or more of the following certification bodies:
- Preferred: Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Check Point, CompTIA (Note: "+" certs are considered entry-level)
- Also considered: VMWare, Microsoft, Amazon, NetApp, EMC/Dell, SANS, ISC2, EC Council
Must be able to discuss their experience and knowledge in these technologies at a deep technical level without the use of knowledge aids.
Must reside within approximately 40 miles of the office in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

Interview Process

The interview will be conducted with Ray Howard and Vaughn Book. Candidates will be expected to answer deep technical questions, including questions from exams related to their specific certifications, and questions such as "What is STIG?", "What is the SQL transactional?", and "What do you consider good security?" Resume should reflect quality documentation skills.

Schedule

This is a fully onsite position in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.
5 days onsite per week.
On-call responsibilities for network issues.

Pay

$60.00 - $65.00/hr
