Systems Administrator II

Seneca Resources is seeking a Systems Administrator II to support a federal defense program in San Diego, California. This is a hands-on, mission-critical role focused on maintaining the integrity, availability, and performance of secure IT infrastructure and operating systems.

About the role

You will manage identity and access controls, harden systems to federal standards, resolve complex technical issues, and ensure continuous uptime across classified computing environments. This position is 100% onsite and offers a clear path to full-time employment with a defense contractor committed to employee development and long-term career growth.

Responsibilities

• Administer Microsoft Active Directory including ADUC, DNS, GPO, and WSUS
• Implement Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and DoD certificate-based authentication
• Perform system maintenance including backups, recovery, and file management
• Acquire, install, configure, and test software upgrades and hardware components
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across hardware, software, and network systems
• Support VPN, network, and email administration in a secure environment
• Monitor system performance and conduct system testing in compliance with IT policies
• Apply DISA STIGs and federal IT compliance standards

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance
• IAT Level II certification required: CySA+, CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• 3+ years of relevant systems administration experience in an enterprise or government environment

Desired Skills

• Experience with network security software and IT backup tools
• Familiarity with licensing management and upgrades management procedures
• Strong documentation skills including development and maintenance of SOPs

Pay

Converting to $75,000-$80,000 annually.
